Year 5 enjoyed a delightful walk down to the River Cole this morning. The weather was perfect for us! It was a long walk and according to Miss Walker’s phone we walked 7km today. Along the river we spotted meanders, stepping stones, a weir and we crossed the bridge alongside the ford. Children also spotted wild flowers and collected some for our classroom. We were also lucky enough to spot a heron perched on a bare log watching out for prey and keeping out our way. Before our return journey, children were able to play in the large grass area near the ford.
Well done to children for good behaviour today and walking so far. We all had a great day.
